Herod’s rule was marked by pride, fear, and violence, yet God chose that very moment to bring His true King into the world. In this reflection we see the contrast of the kingdoms of Herod and Christ, reminding us that while the world celebrates power and image, Jesus calls us to humility, compassion, and surrender. As we prepare our hearts this Advent, may we recognize where we’ve built our own little thrones and invite the real King to reign instead.
