The Wisdom Literature Books are the most stylized pieces of the Old Testament. Comprised of Psalms, Proverbs, Job, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon, these books are poetic and highly emotional. Among other things, they show us that we are not alone in our capacity to feel. Their words and praises and laments can be ours, too. In the final Era of Old Testament Israel, we find the Silent Era, where God is silent for over 400 years. But even in this, the promise remains: The Messiah, Jesus, is coming—and He will bring a way to be near to Him despite our brokenness.
